Back-up!

Old laptop + new magnetic toys = one dead computer

We started the New Year off with a bang...our laptop was wiped clean thanks to some magnets! Sweetie and Popcorn received some super fun magnetic toys for Christmas and were playing with them around our old laptop. I told them not to, explained the hazards, etc. but I'm sure all they heard was: blah, blah, blah. Well, earlier today a certain daughter who shall remain nameless put her magnetic bottle cap necklace onto the laptop and it started to make some funny noises, rattled around for a few minutes and when it finally turned on it said something to the effect that the operating system could not be found. Great.

Fortunately this story has a happy ending because we got a new computer a couple weeks ago and even better, Ladd backed up the old laptop so I think we may have only lost a few photos from December (their cute Christmas PJ's pic among them but we can re-create that) and a couple videos. Whew! Disaster avoided!

So everyone...back up those computers because you never know when everything may evaporate! Now off to recover all those photos....
