More summer fun

Some pictures of our summer adventures (not necessarily in chronological order)...

The REAL princess parade in the cool car.

No trip to Seattle is complete without a trip to Build-a-Bear. (This was their treat for being good while I was in Dallas with L.) Popcorn loves the little place to 'wash' the bears.

Sweetie posing for the camera with her bear.

We went swimming in Lake Washington when it was nice and warm outside. Sweetie and Aunt CJ are having lots of fun.

We went to the Seafair parade on Saturday. The last weekend of July is Seafair weekend. There is a big parade followed by hydro races on Sunday. Here's Cutie Pie and CJ watching the floats go by.
We got a few tubes of glow bracelets at the Target dollar spot and Sweetie had a great time making different configurations with them. Here is the giant necklace (which later became a jump rope).

Popcorn was saying 'aarrrrr' when the Seafair pirates came rolling by. They actually come by in a big pirate ship complete with some very loud cannons.

One of our summer traditions is going kayaking. Usually the girls go with Grandpa but this year Popcorn and I had our own boat. She actually helped row a little. It was a very nice day on the lake.

Sweetie went with Grandpa in the other kayak. They stopped rowing to pose for this lovely picture.

We hope everyone is having a great summer!

Walking!

Cutie Pie is walking! When she first started she leaned so far out in front of herself trying to grab whatever was closest that she fell forward. Now she loves to walk all over the house holding onto some one's finger. At last she's taking off on her own. Hooray!

Photo shoot

Here are some of the pictures I took of the girls in their oh-so-cute coordinating outfits. If only they would all cooperate at the same time! Cutie Pie kept trying to wiggle away.

Sweetie is always ready to pose!

After much coaxing I got Popcorn to sit still and smile!

I managed to get a couple cute ones of Cutie Pie.

Seabrook

For the 4th of July we headed to the little beach town of Seabrook (by Ocean Shores). A good time was had by all. Here we are in front of our cottage (my mom was inside and Cutie Pie was napping).
My sister wrote a post about our stay (including a LOT more pictures) so I will refer you to her blog for a summary of our adventure. Click here for more info. Some of you may consider this lazy, I prefer to call it being efficient ;)

Meeting Junie B. Jones

Sweetie loves the Junie B. Jones book series by Barbara Park. Her teacher started reading these books to them in Kindergarten and Sweetie has been hooked ever since. They're very cute and fun to read out loud. Anyway, Junie B. came to the local bookstore and we of course had to go. Junie B. did a little 'skit' where she talked to the kids; she was fabulous and it was very entertaining. She also 'signed' books (it was really just a large stamp) so we waited for that. Here is Sweetie walking away with her signed book.

Poor Cutie Pie had a rough night. The minute we pulled into the parking lot she threw up all over herself, the car seat, and the car. I've never seen a baby throw up so much. I think she was car sick (I still had her turned backwards because she wasn't quite at 22lbs. which is the new weight for turning them forward- that has now been remedied!). I had to strip off her clothes and I ran into Gap Kids and I found a onsie on the clearance rack and threw it on her. The sales lady was nice and said that kind of thing happens more than you might realize. All I can say is that we're lucky that Uncle G came with us and was able to run into the bookstore with the girls while I took care of the nasty mess.

Here are the girls in front of the bus. (Click to enlarge the picture). Popcorn wasn't as excited to attend the event but she had fun posing for pictures!
