Getting brave
Cutie Pie is now pulling herself up to stand wherever she goes. Sometimes it works better than others. She usually tests it out on her knees first and then stands. However she's still figuring out how to get back down. Currently she lets go and hopes for the best. If she's lucky she'll bounce on her bottom and then crawl away. Sometimes she goes rigid, falls down and rolls over. It's fun to watch her figure things out but it's also nerve wracking. I get so worried about her hitting her head (ever since Popcorn's concussion I've been super paranoid). Cutie Pie is proud of herself, that's for sure!

Speckles
In lieu of a class pet Sweetie’s class has Speckles, the class webkinz frog. (If you don't know what webkinz are click here.) Each weekend a child gets to bring Speckles home and take care of him. We had lots of fun with Speckles (when we weren’t fighting over him). It caused lots of trouble between Sweetie and Popcorn.
Speckles came with us to the museum for story time and some fun. On the way home Popcorn wouldn’t get in her car seat and Sweetie told her that if she would get buckled up she could hold Speckles on the way home. Popcorn willingly complied but Sweetie wouldn’t let her hold Speckles. Sweetie said she just told Popcorn that so she would sit in her seat. Popcorn did of course get to hold Speckles while Sweetie pouted. That’s pretty much how all weekend went.
Speckles also played outside on the swing set and blew bubbles while we enjoyed some very beautiful weather. Later we read stories and played on the Wii. Part of taking care of him requires writing in a journal of what you did together. Sweetie wrote a few things down and showed it to me. I asked about the museum and playing outside. She burst into tears and cried that Speckles was supposed to stay inside. Oops. I remember wondering how he had managed to stay rather clean being drug around, now I know why. All in all we had fun and I must say- that's my kind of pet!

Because Sweetie said so
Sweetie told my sister that I would post a certain picture on my blog (see 2nd picture below). I thought this was funny coming from a 6 year old. She not only uses a computer regularly and knows what a blog is but she's telling people what will appear on the blog!
I think this first picture is hilarious. The girls got new outfits for their Build-A-Bear bears and Sweetie got an Ariel outfit. They had fun wearing the Ariel wig and then proceeded to put it on Cutie Pie. She looks good with red hair!

My sister CJ loves High School Musical and now Sweetie loves it too. L took Sweetie and Popcorn to Walmart for a couple things on Saturday and all the Valentine stuff was on sale. The girls both got balloons. Sweetie really wanted the HSM balloon and the first thing she said was how much CJ would love it. So here's the picture she promised...

Guess the baby...
There are some outfits that are just so cute I take lots of pictures and then compare how each kid looked in it. This beautiful blue dress is one of those outfits. Here is each of them wearing it. Scroll down for the answers of who is who...

*1st picture is Cutie Pie just taken on Sunday. She actually wore the hat all through church! She's the first to do that.
*2nd picture is Sweetie taken long ago when we still lived in WA.
*3rd picture is Popcorn. Sadly, that is the best picture I got of her in that cute dress. She was too interested in crawling away.

I've been tagged
All about my Hubby......
What is his name? Dear Husband, or DH for short.
How long have you been married? 9 years
How old is he? One year older than me.
Who eats more sweets? Me for sure. He likes salty snacks.
Who said "I love you first?" I think he did.
Who is taller? He is. I can even wear heels and he’s still taller!
Who can sing better? I think that would be me. Although he joined the choir at Institute and that's where we met.
Who is smarter? We’re both pretty smart. He has more degrees than I do but I ask more questions.
Who does the laundry? I do but he helps fold.
Who pays the bills? I do even though he’s an accountant!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does.
Who mows the lawn? He does. When we bought our first house he said he would take care of the outside.
Who cooks dinner? I cook, he grills (and makes some excellent ribs).
Who drives? When we’re together he usually drives.
Who is more stubborn? We’re both very stubborn.
Who kissed who first? He did.
Who asked who out first? He asked me out.
Who proposed? He did.
Who has more siblings? I do. I’m the oldest of 4, he has one younger brother.
Who has more friends? He has more friends in Texas. I keep in touch with more friends from other places we’ve lived.
Who wears the pants? We both do. Did I mention we’re both stubborn and both the oldest?????
I'm not going to tag anyone else, but if you want to do this on your own blog feel free!

Give peas a chance
Cutie Pie does not like peas. Her first taste of peas was the baby food pureed kind and I must say I don't blame her for not liking those. They smell gross when you open them up. She gagged and shuddered down 2 bites of those.
Then I thought we'd try the frozen peas as they seem like a good finger food. Well, no luck there either. At first it appeared that she ate several but I later found most of them on her lap or on the floor. She tried a couple and kept gagging. I got a picture of her eating them below.

We're trying to eat a rainbow of foods but so far she doesn't like anything green. Any suggestions?

Valentine
I saw some really cute Valentine ideas in the Feb. Family Fun magazine. One of the ideas was to put some hot chocolate into a red cup and write "you warm my heart" on the cup. I decided to make them a little more exciting and give them to Sweetie's and Popcorn's teachers. Here's the finished Valentine below.....
I covered a soup can and used my scrapbook supplies for the rest.

Crazy weather
So my sister was complaining that it had been awhile since I last posted (almost a whole week!) so I thought I would share a little story about our crazy Texas weather yesterday.
It was overcast and in the 70's most of the day. I was wearing short sleeves and went to pick up Popcorn from pre-school. Some dark clouds were in the distance but it looked far away so I didn't bring any rain gear. On the way there I got a few rain drops on the car but nothing too bad. Then all of 3 minutes later as I was waiting in line (in my car) it started POURING rain. I was stopped and I had to turn my wipers on just to see out. It was like someone had a hose at the top of the windshield and was letting the water run down. Being from the Pacific Northwest I'm used to my fair share of rain but it never poured like this up there. It still amazes me how hard it rains in Texas.
So I get Popcorn but I still have to go to the store to get a couple things and so we go across the street to the grocery store. It was still raining but I thought we could just run in. I get Popcorn out and then run to get Cutie Pie (she was in her seat so she stayed dry). I got really wet just getting them out of the car. (I had to change my shirt when I got home and my hair was damp.) We did our shopping and when we come out of the store, all of 10 minutes later, it was sunny and just a few puddles were on the ground. By the time we got home you never would have known it had rained. We went from cloudy to heavy rain to sunny in the course of 20 minutes. Crazy.
Maybe I'll have something more exciting to post about later!
