Snow- for real this time!

We got a few inches of snow last week! School was cancelled last Friday (thanks to the forecast of snow...again) but it started to accumulate and the roads got slushy around noon.

Here are Sweetie and Popcorn with their snow girl, named Kayla. Popcorn loves the name Kayla and also has a doll named Kayla. She was telling me something about snow girl Kayla but I thought she was talking about doll Kayla- anyway it was funny. We finally got some good use out of our snowman kits, a neighbor in PA gave those to us and after lugging them around we finally had enough snow to use them!

After the snow on Friday it started to rain. It was still very cold outside so all the rain turned into a nice crust of ice. We all got bundled up and were ready to have fun in the snow only to find everything was hard and crunchy. Cutie Pie didn't even make footprints, she just skimmed across the top!

Even the ice can't put a damper on Popcorn's spirits...

Here's a picture of the snow from our back deck looking out to the street. It got a little blurry; I changed the camera batteries and ever since the camera has been acting strange.

The snow girl was actually made on Sunday when the sun came out and the snow turned into real snow (church was cancelled, the roads all turned into a big sheet of ice too). They also got Mon. and Tues. off from school as well. I think they've only been to school 1 full week since Christmas break, between the snow/ice days and holidays they've had a lot of time off!
