Fun Stuff

Amidst all the packing/moving and changing schools we've had some fun. Here's some of what we've been up to....

I got some pumpkins last night and Popcorn pestered me ALL day to carve one. I finally gave in hoping for a little peace. She had a great time and that's all that matters. Here she is modeling the face she wanted me to carve. I thought it was pretty funny.

All 3 girls love to play tea party. They love it so much that we packed all those toys last. Popcorn and Cutie Pie had lots of fun playing together. I have a fun little video clip I'll try to post later.

Matching outfits...Cutie Pie doesn't enjoy posing for pictures. Hmmm, we'll have to work on that.

Cutie Pie got a hold of Popcorn's sucker while we were at the Halloween carnival at YMCA. The problem is she doesn't swallow and there were puddles of sticky slobber all over the place. I finally got it away from her and she got really mad. So young to have such a strong opinion!

In a moment of weakness I bought Sweetie and Popcorn costumes. They've been such good little troopers through all this change. Here is Sweetie as Gabriella from HSM. We're going to see the movie this weekend, we simply didn't have time when it first came out.

Popcorn is a fairy princess, or whatever she feels like calling her outfit. She got a pair of wings and a light up skirt.
There was even pizza to end the night of fun (and better yet I didn't have to make dinner!)

Last but not least here's a picture of the front of our house...

and one of the back. There are too many boxes to post any pictures of the other rooms :) We're loving our new place and every night after dinner we've been playing at the park.

Moving...one last time!

This weekend we're moving into our new house in Plano! We're all super excited. We found a house that we LOVE with everything we were looking for, plus it backs up to a park. What could be better? All that lovely grass without the maintenance. Ladd is excited.

I'm going to be busy this week getting things taken care of here in Dallas, doing the walk through, closing on the house, and packing up the last little stuff. Oh, did I mention that Ladd is out of town this week? The ONE trip he has all year (and has been scheduled for months) is this week. Great timing isn't it? Funny how things like that happen.

We hope everyone has a great week and next time I blog it will probably be from our new place!

Sweetie's 1/2 Birthday!

Sweetie is 7 1/2 today! Soon she'll be 8 and getting baptized- wow. It seems like she was a baby not so long ago. Anyway, Sweetie wanted an elaborate High School Musical cake (but I'm not that talented a cake decorator) so my mom sent some HSM decorations for us to use. Sweetie was super excited!

Grandma also sent this fun banner (thanks for letting us borrow it CJ!).

Grandma Watts is visiting us this week and we saw these super cute Hello Kitty Halloween shirts at Target and she got them for the girls- thanks! (Cutie Pie also got a Halloween shirt but she wouldn't stay still for a picture, maybe another time).

Texas State Fair

They take their State Fair very seriously here in Dallas. So seriously in fact that the kids get a day off of school in order to attend (no kidding). We were going to go on Sweetie's designated day (Friday) but were advised against it due to large crowds. Boy were we glad we listened to that advice, it was rather crowded for a Tuesday night.

We saw the usual Fair sites: things for sale (beds, sewing machines, kitchen gadgets, clothes, etc.), the 'car show' section, animals, rides and games, and all the fried food. This year 2 new additions were fried Jelly Belly Beans and chicken fried bacon. Yikes.

Here we are meeting Big Tex. We heard so much about him we had to see for ourselves! He is very tall and even talks every now and then.

Here's Popcorn enjoying some flowers. She's turned into my 'poser', always ready with a smile or silly face.
The real highlight was the cotton candy...

Popcorn's 1/2 Birthday!

Popcorn is 4 1/2 today! I can't believe she'll be 5 on her next birthday and then starting Kindergarten! Wow. She's so much fun; she loves to make us all laugh. Popcorn is our comic relief. Here she is looking cute...

Story of the cake...
Popcorn was very excited about her special day and we decided to make cupcakes together. I was going to make regular size cupcakes but I couldn't find my muffin pan. It's at times like these that not unpacking everything comes back to bite you. Anyway, I found a mini muffin pan and Popcorn was excited to make 'baby' cupcakes. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Fast forward 2 hours later when we're still making cupcakes and it didn't seem like such a great idea. Oh well.
After baking all morning the thought of frosting all those little things was a bit more than I wanted to tackle so we put a bunch on a plate and frosted them all together (I've seen this done at the store, just never tried it myself). We put some sprinkles on and then I cut the eyes and mouth out of black paper. Popcorn was very excited to have a pumpkin cake. She loves to help in the kitchen and she did a great job on her cake!
We love you Popcorn!

Tagged

Now this is the kind of tag I like...no thinking required, no questions to answer, and no embarrassing info to announce to the world. My friend (currently living in Brazil) tagged me to post a photo. You simply open your photo folder and take the 4th picture from the 4th folder and post it. (My pics are organized by year and month so I had to get the 4th folder from the 4th folder but I'm sure this is uninteresting and irrelevant info!)

Without further ado, my picture:

This picture is from April 2006; Popcorn and Sweetie (ages 2 and 5) in our house in Pennsylvania. My how they have grown!

If you are reading this and want to do this on your own blog consider yourself tagged. It's easy and fun!
