Day of puzzles (and other fun pictures)

The other day Popcorn got out all our puzzles and had a great time putting them together and almost as much fun breaking them apart. She put the boxes all in a row and made them into a choo choo train around the table. She had a great time!


Here's Cutie Pie and a shot of her bottom teeth. She's having a great time getting into things. She was eating a goldfish cracker and got very upset when I took it away.



Sweetie loves to pose in her dresses, she's very girly and I get some good pictures of her after church all dressed up.

On the move

Now that Cutie Pie can crawl she's having fun exploring the house. She crawls over to things and pulls herself up to her knees. She's not the best at getting back down and sometimes will fall and then she cries. However, she's improving by the day. It's fun to watch her discover what she can do.

Haircuts

The girls were in bad need of a trim so we went yesterday to get their hair cut. I lose track of when they last had a trim until one day it looks really long. I do this to myself too. Anyway- here they are looking better.

8 months...

...and crawling!

Cutie Pie finally figured out how to crawl! (When I say finally it's because she's been so close for so long. Sweetie didn't crawl until 10 months old!) I was watching her the other day and she would move her arms but had a hard time figuring out her legs. She would get up on her toes and look like she was doing push-ups. Today she put it all together and now looks like a baby crawling instead of an earthworm wiggling along.

Miscellaneous

Warning: this is probably only interesting to family so if you get bored don't say I didn't warn you! :)

We spent Christmas break cleaning and organizing the office/craft room. It only took living here 16 months to finally organize it, but at least it's now done. After all that work I now have my very own desk to leave as messy as I like! I've actually completed a couple scrapbook pages, I can't tell you how long it's been since I've scrapbooked at home. It's so much easier to finish pages when I can come and go doing little things here and there rather than getting everything out just to pack it all back up.


Sweetie seems to be doing better on her allergy meds, so that is good. She lost another tooth over the weekend. Funny story.
Mom: (Noticing the half eaten sandwich) Are you done with your lunch?
Sweetie: Yes, it hurts to chew because of this. (Opens mouth to reveal a red spot where a tooth used to be).
Mom: Was it even loose?
Sweetie: A little. It kind of wiggled then on the third bite of sandwich it was gone. I don't know where it went.
Mom: Wow, the tooth fairy sure has been here a lot lately. (I didn't dare suggest she probably swallowed the tooth lest she freak out).

I thought it was amusing how it was no big deal to her that she lost a tooth. Flashback two weeks ago when the other tooth was loose and she was having a fit about it. She asked me to pull it out but I couldn't. Then as she continued to wiggle it got looser and more sore. She wouldn't let me touch it. Then she refused to eat or drink anything because it hurt. Never mind the thing was moving when she breathed. She spent the rest of the day (until dinner) with her mouth hanging open! The thing finally came out before we ate. Such drama!


Popcorn is still her silly self. She loves Craisins (dried cranberries). I bought some to make my favorite holiday cookies and she loved them! She calls them 'red raisins'. I thought it was funny when I asked what she wanted in her lunch for pre-school and she said: red raisins! I think she could survive eating nothing but popcorn, apples and pudding pops.


Cutie Pie is doing well. Her bottom 2 teeth are still coming in. She still prefers me but is warming up to L more and more. They have fun together during church while I'm off playing the piano. She had a blow-out on L's lap right before church started. She got him so good he had to go home and change his pants.

I haven't taken many pictures lately so I'll try to be better about that. I still have to finish that slide show too!

Allergies

I took the kids to the doctor yesterday after being sick yet again. We spent the Christmas break with the kids coughing and sneezing. Sweetie developed a sinus infection and Cutie Pie got an ear infection from being congested.

Well, as it turns out they have allergies. Apparently cedar is really bad this time of year and has caused our illness. There's not much to do for Cutie Pie but Sweetie is now trying an allergy medicine. Hopefully she'll clear up some and stop coughing constantly. We get lots of glares from people when we're out and about with how she's coughing. I feel like carrying a sign saying: 'my kids aren't contagious they just have allergies'.

New Year, New Look

I'm playing around with some different colors, etc. on the blog because I feel like a change. So if it keeps changing you'll know why.

I'm still working on a new slide show- I had one almost done and then the website froze and when I came back the album was gone. I was annoyed so I'm taking a break but I'll try again soon. I may not get it done as we're entering the big birthday weekend but maybe next week.

Both my and L's birthdays are 2 days apart so we're going out to dinner tomorrow. It's a bad time of year to have a birthday when you're an accountant (or the wife of an accountant) so we usually consolidate.
